Nature is a wonderful thing to behold and take in, particularly if you can do so from the comfort of your own backyard. There are some challenges to kicking back and enjoying the pleasures of nature, especially if you can’t get any animals to come out so that you can enjoy them as well. For instance, what fun is sitting in your backyard if there aren’t any birds flying around, eating and having a good time. To ensure that some birds will be around your yard, you should get a birdhouse or two to accompany your outdoor home décor.

Recently, I was looking through the internet and stumbled on a list of crazy birdhouses that have been photographed over the years. Some of these houses are absolutely crazy and detailed but most are simply different. Here are some of them:

- Birdtown (about 2/3 of the way down the page) – This is one of the most detailed and innovative bird houses that I’ve ever seen. It is built into the top of a tree (which looks like part was chopped down) to make a little city for the birds. Featuring one large house and several smaller areas, this birdhouse may be very busy – just make sure to keep refilling with bird seed.
- Bird motel – (a few up from Birdtown) This is just a simple birdhouse with a simple neon sign next to it that says open. I get the joke, but couldn’t they have jazzed up the birdhouse a little bit, maybe make the house actually look like a motel, not just a plain birdhouse.
