The fall is one of the four seasons that heaps a veritable palette of gorgeous colors and beautiful – if chilly – weather on homeowners. Those homeowners who enjoy establishing a theme in and around their homes with the colors of the season have a lot to consider with their décor choices – from colors to rain chains and everything in between. I have mentioned fall home décor before, but I think this topic lends itself to a second look, especially with the plethora of trends to look at in the fall season.
Here are some more ideas for your home décor in the fall, especially if you are having guests over for entertaining:
- Tablecloths are generally considered to be the central thread in any dining room, but that doesn’t mean you have to replace them each season with a brand new one. Leave your regular solid color tablecloth on the table, but add a piece of fall themed fabric down the center. This will not only add contours to your table, but also tie in an autumn theme at a low cost.
- This may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised at the number of people who don’t consider candles as a décor element in their homes. By utilizing candles with scents of the fall season – pumpkin, apple cider, cloves, etc. – you can transform your home using the sense of smell.
- The centerpiece at your dinner table should reflect some sort of autumnal theme, like a cornucopia or a bowl filled with various gourds and small pumpkins. This is an effective way to change up the look of a room quickly.
- Add a scarecrow to your garden that reflects a mixture of Halloween and Thanksgiving. Scarecrows are not only fun and fanciful, but can be made from things already in your home.
